2004 IPd Garage Sale, Swap Meet and Car show
The 2004 IPd trip was a great one! I wasn't able to drive due to the condition of my car and the fact that gas was around $2.25 on average for the trip up and back. So I car-pooled with Mike in his 760 Turbo Wagon, which was FULL to the brim with Volvo stuff...And John drove his sweet 242 Turbo. I took TONS of pictures and this is but a small sampling. I also have a few pictures of the race cars over at MVP, check out their web page, both Peter and Paul are more like artists that Volvo Technicians. Here are some pictures of the trip on the way up...I should have taken more but more than half the trip was in the dark...
This was just some random gas station in Idaho...
Isn't John such a stud? His car looks great in motion, the 18" rims are a surprisingly smooth ride. All the dark spots are road grime on Mike's windows, the paint on John's car is maticulous. It was a perfect day for a road trip!
Once we got to Portland we droped John's car off for a check-up and some minor tuning... Here are some of the pirctures from there... And just a quick Thanks to Peter and Paul of MVP for not only letting us poke around but for all there great info. I would highly recomend them if you are looking for a good shop to work on your Brick.
This is the front of the shop on 1330 SW Troy St in Portland, OR.
This is the Front of Peter's Race car. MAN it is an impressive machine. It is very obvious that he has done a lot to this. I can't wait for the opertunity to see it run. Here are the details as to what he has done to it at MVP.
Here is a side shot...
This is the interior, those seats are even more supportive than the look!
Once we got to IPd in the morning we set up out booth. There are a good number of Volvo nuts like us that have plenty of spare parts. It is nice to get the chance to scruminage through other people's stuff to see what they have...
This is the beginings of our booth. John and I shared both shared the booth so we had a mixture of stuff from both of our "Junk" collections.
Now for the car show...There were a huge number of cars there this year, at least compared to last year... I didn't have time to take pictures of all the cars but here is an overview of the show...Click on this link for a few shots of the car show.
