1966 Volvo 122s

As many of you know my 740 is temporarily out of commission due to the negligence of a Utah Soccer Mom in her Boyfriend's SUV...So in the meantime I was able to acquire a 1966 Volvo 122s. I bought it from a great fellow Volvo nut that lives just about 30 miles south of me. My wife followed me as I drove it home and she was shocked that it handled the hills in Utah without any problems at all. I admit that I am new to this realm of Volvo however I look forward to the chance to learn and have some fun with this great little car. I get some great looks as I go tooling down the road in this beauty.

Here's the latest adventure...For our 4th anniversary my wife and I went Cross Country skiing...It was a blast and it made for a killer photo too...

This is how it looks after a fresh Utah snow...I took most of these pictures while it was snowing out so please forgive me for all the little white flurries...

The wheels are really basic.  They are the standard steel rims with Chrome hubcaps.  For the most part I will leave the wheels alone, I plan to repaint them someday but for now they will do just fine.

The cockpit on this car is just plain cool, it is simple and effective, the Temperature gauge is the only thing that doesn't work. I have had some troubles with the keys because the spring in the ignition is very stiff. I am looking into adding a push button starter so that the key won't have the stress on it when I start the car.

The front seats are worn but are in good shape for their age, I do plan to rebuilt them so stay tuned to updates and photos. I haven't decided if I will get new foam or not, I will re-web it and have the covers re-sewn.

The back seat is in great shape, though it is small so I don't know that I will carry anyone. The floor is in dire need of some new carpeting. My plan is to attack the flooring when the snow melts and the Temperature is warmer.

The motor runs like a top. I really don't have any plans to do any other than clean it up in the near future. The heater control valve was removed and a Kludge job was done. I will retro-fit a valve out of a 240 soon.
